Shantae Thomas

Shantae Thomas is an independent author whose work moves between raw urban fiction, personal memoir, and children’s storytelling. Across genres, her writing centers on truth, connection, survival, and the strength it takes to rebuild.

Her novel The Side Door pulls readers into a world of love, deception, manipulation, and choices that can no longer be avoided. Her memoir, The Journie Back to Me, tells a personal story of hearing loss, burnout, motherhood, and reinvention. In Love Is Our Language: A Journie Story, she celebrates family and the ways love speaks beyond sound.

“For fifteen years, I was the only one required to pretend.”

For Shantae, writing is not about making life look perfect. It is about giving the truth room to breathe, putting complicated feelings into words, and reminding readers that their stories matter, too.

Her books are different in style, but they share one promise: the characters and emotions will stay with you long after the last page.
